A custom ecommerce solution built on AWS and Stripe for a dear friend of mine. She had informed me that in the past, someone had tried to build a website for her but the process of ordering a bag of cookies was way too complex. Well, the problem was solved by allowing users to order cookies in a few clicks. Plus her daughter already had killer images of the product, making one of the hardest parts of the job trivial.

Shopify... yea... mmmm.... well, yeah. Not a huge fan of the liquid templating but overall, Shopify is a pretty killer platform for e-commerce. The biggest challenge here was a 3rd party app integration (Book That App) that isn't very stylable. Also a noteworthy challenge was understanding what all Shopify generates behind the scenes (think of all the different slugs WP uses), making sure I covered all the templating. The business owner had the payment processing and POS already integrated, so not much there. Purely a front end + plugin config gig. P.S. I would have loved to build her something custom but she was already heavily integrated with Shopify (mainly POS in store) and it was just the correct decision to stick with the platform versus going a different route (AWS).

The website you are currently on. Sure I could have thrown the site on an EC2 instance with a file server of your choice. Heck I could have used S3 + CF, but where's the fun in that? Docker and CI/CD? As Dak Prescott would say, "HERE WE GOOO!"
